Welcome to Wood Tae Kwon Do

Welcome to Adrian and Val Wood club's for Tae Kwon Do. All clubs are members of the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB).

Currently clubs are located in Hertford, Chingford, Ilford, Watford and Leighton Buzzard.

This site is an introduction to Tae Kwon Do and in particular to our clubs. It provides general infomation about Tae Kwon Do and also specific information for the club members.

Adrian Wood

Adrian Wood has been training for over 12 years with the TAGB and is a 4th degree black belt, currently training for his 5th degree.  He has been a TAGB instructor for over 9 years.

Adrian took up Tae Kwon Do having initially accompanying his younger brother to a demonstration.  From that first lesson he was hooked.

He started entering competitions from early on his career and has fought for his country in the European Championships.  He has also achieved student of the year within his instructor’s club.

Although now retired from competitions he eagerly encourages his own students to enter as many competitions as they can and has produced many medal winners.

“I draw my inspiration from my late mother who always wanted to be a gym instructor and encouraged me to follow my dreams” says Adrian”.

“Try to be the best you can and always aim high”.

Val Wood

Val Wood has been practising Tae Kwon Do for almost 10 years. Having watched her husband Adrian for two years she decided to take up the sport herself.

Val has been teaching professionally for 6 years and successfully runs three Tae Kwon Do Schools.

Val is also a qualfied aerobics instructor and uses her knowledge of aerobics to incorporate into her Tae Kwon Do classes.

"I always try to make my lessons fun" says Val. I have such a passion for my sport and I adore teaching. It gives me such pleasure to see a student take on board what I have taught them. Juniors especially are very good at taking on board information.

I now have my own black belts (16 in total) three of which are ladies and I am so proud of them.

The most important passion in my life (other than Adrian) is our son Thomas. Thomas is now 3½ years old and I marvel at him every day. He is so intelligent and can already kick and punch a pad on demand (youngest ever black belt in the making!!!).
